HELLO FOLKS.
The playoffs now being over we have now to look forward to seeing the Fish play next season! I believe that if this team can be kept intact with the same players it will be another great year of Goldeyes baseball. I hope to see you all at the park next season and hope to have your continuing viewership! I would like to thank team radio broadcaster PAUL EDMONDS for his support.
God bless,best wishes.
regards,Gerry
At the American Association league meetings, it was announced that the Winnipeg Goldeyes were named the 2011 Organization of the Year. This award encompasses all aspects of a team’s operation, including but not limited to team and umpire hotels, post-game meals, clubhouse, game operations, playing field, communication and overall professionalism.
“This award illustrates the respect the Goldeyes have in the American Association and it’s a privilege to be given this award by the other 13 teams in the league,” Goldeyes owner and CEO Sam Katz said. “It’s speaks to the quality of staff we have, from the general manager to the bat boy, and the work they do to make the organization successful every season.”
This marks the sixth time the Goldeyes have won this award in the past nine seasons. While in the Northern League, Winnipeg was named the Organization of the Year in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009.
Other accolades from the 2011 season include the Goldeyes winning the American Association’s North Division with a record of 60-40, Rick Forney being named the Manager of the Year and second baseman Price Kendall claiming the Rookie of the Year award.

Goldeyes announce merger with American Association
Wednesday, 13 October 2010 08:23 Goldeyes Media Release
The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced today that the baseball club is one of four teams from the Northern League that is merging with the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball Clubs, effective immediately.
Joining Winnipeg in the merger with the American Association are the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, Gary SouthShore RailCats and Kansas City T-Bones, which brings the American Association to 14 teams.
Playing in the American Association’s North Division, Winnipeg is reunited with former rivals, the Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants and St. Paul Saints. Fargo-Moorhead will also play in the North Division.
“This is an exciting day for the Winnipeg Goldeyes,” owner Sam Katz said. “The merger will reestablish the competitive rivalries the Goldeyes once had with the likes of St. Paul, Sioux City, Sioux Falls and Lincoln, while maintaining the longstanding rivalries with Fargo-Moorhead, Gary and Kansas City.”
The Central Division will be comprised of Gary SouthShore, Kansas City, Lincoln Saltdogs, Sioux City Explorers and Wichita Wingnuts, while the South Division remains intact.
The American Association will play a 100-game regular season. The schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
